Gîte de Charme à Chenonceaux

Parkland & swimming pool

photo Gite Chenonceaux

The Estate (approximately one hectare or 2.5 acres) has a pebbled courtyard, an old vegetable garden surrounded by a stone wall and enclosed parkland with more than fifty trees, including fruit trees (cherry, plum, apple, pear, walnut, medlar, almond and hazelnut), deciduous trees (oak, hornbeam, acacia and beech) and evergreens (cypress, pine and larch). A small gravel courtyard is on the western side of the house.

Two large double gates open onto the main courtyard and parkland. A low wall made with stone from the property runs from the vegetable garden to the gate and shrubs grow along the wall.

The swimming-pool and small winery building are on the western side. The heated pool (12m x 6m) has a paved terrace and shower, and a large garden table for al fresco dining. Raspberries, mulberries and flowers grow nearby. The pool commands a view of the country, with fields and woods visited by deer and other wild animals.

Beside the pool is the small winery building with the equipment needed for the swimming pool plus toilet facilities and a large storage area with garden furniture, cooking utensils and refrigerators. Against the southern wall of the small winery building is an outside kitchen, with sink and BBQ under an awning.
